Фактический размер империи варьировался в зависимости от времени и мог простираться по всей Европе до Испании, Британии и Сирии.
Игры, включенные в эту группу, могут быть самого разного жанра, например, это симуляторы строительства городов, стратегические сражения с римскими легионами, бои гладиаторов один на один, гонки колесниц и конкретные исторические сражения, которые происходили в связи с Римской империей (например, против Карфагена в Пунических войнах).
